Digitalization of automotive aftermarket

EMPTA extends its heartfelt appreciation to TecAlliance for extending an invitation to EMPTA members to participate in a session focused on the digitalization of product management and data management in the automotive aftermarket. The event provided an excellent platform for sharing innovations and solutions in this rapidly evolving sector.

The presentations covered a range of crucial topics, including accessibility, availability, customer experience improvement, fitment accuracy, real-time updates, integration with e-commerce platforms, and product life cycle management. These discussions aimed to enhance understanding and facilitate the adoption of digital solutions within the automotive aftermarket industry.

EMPTA Chairman Kau Peng Yap and Committee member Elsie Hong were in attendance at the sessions, highlighting EMPTA’s commitment to staying abreast of industry trends and collaborating with stakeholders to drive innovation and progress. Kau Peng Yap expressed EMPTA’s dedication to working closely with the government and other stakeholders to promote the digitalization of the automotive aftermarket, benefiting industry players and consumers alike.

Selangor and Federal Territory Engineering and Motor Parts Traders’ Association (EMPTA) had a workshop with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) on 26 July 2022 to discuss  matters related to Customs (Prohibition of Imports) (Amendment) Order 2022. The workshop was a result of the earlier meeting between EMPTA, JPJ and the Transport Minister; it aimed to ensure smooth process in the importation of automotive parts affected by the new rule while not compromising safety standards of the imported goods. During the workshop, EMPTA and JPJ also discussed the digitalization road map of automotive replacement parts industry.
