On 2 June 2022, Selangor and Federal Territory Engineering and Motor Parts Traders’ Association (EMPTA) representatives headed by Deputy Chairman Tan Hang Chai met with the Minister of Transport Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong and his team as well as the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to discuss the issues affecting the automotive parts industry as a result of the Customs (Prohibition of Imports) (Amendment) Order 2022.

The minister studied to the challenges confronting the importers and agreed to grant more time for the affected importers in meeting the requirements of the new rule.
