INDUSTRY UPDATE: WORKING TOGETHER FOR A SOLUTION

Selangor and Federal Territory Engineering and Motor Parts Traders’ Association (EMPTA)

EMPTA, together with other automotive industry associations have submitted a petition to the authorities to highlight the issues confronting members pertaining to Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking of Engine Oil for Motor Vehicle) Order 2024, such as certification requirements and unsold stocks after the Order’s effective date 7 April 2025.

Following that, EMPTA committee members had a discussion with the authorities yesterday. The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN) verbally agreed on the following:

  1. Consider to postpone the enforcement of the new regulation.

  1. Assist industry players to overcome the challenges in compliance with the new regulation.

  1. Meet representatives of EMPTA and other associations for further discussion on all related matters.

EMPTA remains committed to supporting our members through the challenges, we will continue to keep you updated on our progress.

Yours faithfully,
