The EMPTA Gaido Badminton Tournament 2023 kicked off today with much excitement, as former world No.1 badminton player, Datuk Foo Kok Keong, graced the event with his presence.The opening ceremony was attended by EMPTA Chairman Kau Peng Yap, Deputy Chairman Tan Hang Chai, Assistant Social Secretary Jason Lim, and Committee members Ong Ah Peng, Ng Moon Chuan, Lim Boon Hoe, Law Poh Hong, Fifi Leong, Kenneth Yung, and Jazz Kong.
A total of 200 players enthusiastically participated in the two-day tournament, competing for both cash and non-cash prizes. EMPTA extends its gratitude to all sponsors for their generous contributions, which helped make the event a success. EMPTA’s commitment to promoting sports and fostering camaraderie among its members through engaging events like the Gaido Badminton Tournament. Additionally, the presence of a former badminton world champion adds prestige and excitement to the tournament, making it a memorable occasion for all involved.
The EMPTA Gaido Badminton Tournament 2023 concluded with jubilant cheers for all the winners who secured trophies, medals, and cash prizes. Congratulations were extended to all participants for their spirited play and commendable efforts throughout the tournament.
Prizes were awarded by EMPTA Vice Chairman Teh Kian Chong, Assistant Social Secretary Jason Lim, as well as Committee members Lim Boon Hoe and Keeneth Yung.
