EMPTA at Lemon Law Symposium – 5 June 2024

EMPTA at Lemon Law Symposium

EMPTA had the privilege of attending the Lemon Law Symposium hosted by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Living Costs of Malaysia. This insightful event covered various crucial topics, including the Market Review under the Competition Act for Selected Transportation Sectors in Malaysia, with a specific focus on Motor Vehicle Warranty.

EMPTA Committee Member Elsie Hong was also a panelist of the symposium, which provided an excellent platform for discussing consumer rights and protections in the automotive industry. Sharon Wee and Kuah Voon Shien from EMPTA were also present at the event.

We are grateful to the Ministry for organizing this event and to all the speakers and participants for their valuable contributions. EMPTA remains committed to supporting policies and initiatives that protect consumers and promote a competitive and fair market for automotive parts and services.

Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali announced that the Ministry has set up a special task force to study the establishment of the Lemon Law in Malaysia. 🚗🔍 This initiative aims to provide better protection to consumers in the automotive industry and is part of the ministry’s effort to implement legal reforms for a more comprehensive consumer protection framework. ⚖️🛡️
